As we all know, vegetarianism is a diet including the consumption of vegetable originated foods other than meat, fish and poultry. The vegetarianism is also divided into sub groups with reference to the food types to be consumed. The veganism is one of them. 

The veganism is the diet excluding all foods originated from animals and includes vegetables alone.

Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets may have advantages and disadvantages for the health. A vegetarian diet is beneficial for health when the healthy nutrition advices are followed and it is easy to maintain. The vegetarian diets focusing on grains, legume, vegetables and fruits have low fats and high pomace. When vegetarian people plan their diets carefully, it has good effects on the health.  

 

The human body consists of protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals and water; it is necessary to have foods including those ingredients sufficiently.

The protein, as one of them, is the most fundamental building block of our body and they are made from amino acids. While our body can produce some amino acids itself, it cannot synthesis some others. These necessary amino acids which the body cannot produce are required to be taken through foods. The protection, reinforcement, strength, renewal of the muscle-bone tissues, repair of degraded body tissues are the most important tasks of these amino acids. Also, they reinforce the immune system against diseases.     

The proteins are included in all the foods originated from animals or vegetables. However, foods are different from each other with reference to the amount and characteristics of the protein. The animal originated foods are protein intensive resources. Among vegetable originated foods, the legume, soy, fatty seeds and stone plants contain high amount of protein. The grain products also contribute to the vegetable proteins. Since high percent of fresh vegetables and fruits consists of water, the protein amount is low in these.

 

You may balance the protein quality of your diet by selecting at least two of legume, grains, nuts, stone group. The peanut that is in the nuts, stone groups is an important source of protein for your diet.
